CE Mark - Self Certified And Through Notified Body

The CE Mark, which is affixed to a product or its packaging, is considered proof that a product has met the requirements of the harmonized European standard, or directive. The European Commission, which administers the program, describes the CE Mark as a PASSPORT for goods to be sold freely within the internal European market. It is required by law if the product falls under one of the New Approach Directives. It is not a quality mark, nor is it a mark for consumers. Intended for Member State authorities, it is the visible sign to those authorities that your product is in compliance with the New Approach Directives.

CE marking on a product indicates to all authorities that the product is in compliance with the essential health and safety requirements of all directives that apply to the product.

CE marking is a declaration by the manufacturer that the product meets all the appropriate provisions of the relevant legislation implementing certain European Directives. CE marking gives companies easier access into the European market to sell their products without adaptation or rechecking. The initials “CE” do not stand for any specific words but are a declaration by the manufacturer that his product meets the requirements of the applicable European Directive(s).

LMS has cooperation with many notified bodies who are in CE certification Services. We are providing CE certification services through these bodies depending on the customer requirements. Some of the products we cover are electrical goods, medical devices, construction products, machinery, pressure vessels etc.

Benefits Of CE Marking

  • The EU introduced the CE marking scheme to make trade easier and cheaper between EU countries.
  • Often customers will look for CE marking on a product as an indication of conformance to laid down minimum standards, and therefore a minimum level of quality that other products may lack.
